MICE, Globalization, Job Competencies, overseas work experience

ÃÊ·Ï

This study investigates the influences of job competences of workers in the MICE industry on globalization and analyzes the regulation effects of the workers¡¯ overseas work experience. To this end, 50 MICE industry workers were surveyed, and as a result, the workers¡¯ job competences were classified into the following three: ¡®planning and practical capabilities¡¯, ¡®global adaptation capacity¡¯, and ¡®creative global directivity¡¯. The globalization of organizations was shown to have two elements, ¡®international contracts¡¯ and ¡®establishing international networks¡¯, and the international work experience were identified as follows: ¡®experiences in international work-related tasks,¡¯ ¡®experiences in overseas dispatch and/or relocation¡¯, and ¡®experiences in studying, training, or language training overseas¡¯. The job competences of MICE industry workers influence the organization¡¯s globalization, and the ¡®experiences in studying, training, or language training overseas¡¯ have regulation effects on job competences and globalization. This result is significant in that the study has inquisitively proven the job competences that the  MICE organizations must encourage for globalization and that it suggests the foundation for logical discussion for globalization of Korea¡¯s MICE industry.
