Smart phones have significantly impacted our style of life, study, work and travel. Travelers using smart phones can enjoy travel much more, easily finding a necessary information about places of interests, transport, restaurants at the destination and making air or railway ticket and accommodation reservations during their trips. The travel experience also varies depending on travelers¡¯ methods and competence to use smart phones. Extending the existing researches and contributing to the future researches focusing on the matters of user competence and exploitation and exploration use of information technologies, we emphasize that traveler¡¯s experience and self-efficacy about smart phone use and social influence play a positive role in traveler¡¯s competence of using smart phone; and affirm that traveler¡¯s competence significantly effects exploration, exploitation and ambidextrous use of smart phones. Based on these results, we provide theoretical and practical implications. |
