The purpose of this study is to examine the policy directions for tourism promotion and the recognition of tourism through campaign promises of the 20th general election candidates. Local governments are investing in the tourism industry as their key industry, and there are many tourism issues in the Honam area. Campaign promises are very important to gauge candidates¡¯ perspectives and recognition of tourism. In order to accomplish the purpose of the study, data were collected from the election publicity materials of the candidates. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the rate of campaign promises related to tourism by the entire Honam region winners was as high as 15.93% of the total promises made. In addition, tourism, culture, promotion, support, and industry were derived as core keywords of tourism policy in the Honam area. It can be interpreted that the main policy included in the tourism promises is a development-oriented commitment. This study differs from previous research in that it has implemented policy promise research related to tourism, which has not been performed in the past through language network analysis, and suggests practical and academic implications. |
