This research examines the mixed-used development strategy of new convention & exhibition center and proposes development strategy of Jeonju convention center. In this study, conjoint analysis is used as the method of study and it is consisted of four attributes and several sub-attributes which was drawn by preceding research and experts¡¯ opinions. Survey questionnaires distributed to 284 Jeonju citizens and 40 MICE experts. As the results of the study, both Jeonju citizen and MICE experts accessed that location is the most important utility among the four attributes - location, development method, construction characteristic, additional function. Development method and additional function are followed by location and construction characteristic has the least utility among them. Both Jeonju citizen and MICE experts group agreed the following attributeslocation, development method, construction characteristic. First in the attribute of location, two groups all prefer downtown most and their preference goes down when the location goes suburb. Secondly they both prefer that Jeonju convention center is built with national budget in the attribute of development method. Next in the attribute of construction characteristic, it is shown that complex facility of one building is preferred to complex facility of several buildings. But, the last attribute of additional function has different opinions of two groups. Jeonju citizen group prefer cultural/recreational/amusement facility as the facility of Jeonju convention center while MICE experts prefer accommodations as the facility of Jeonju convention center. This study has worth in regards to research on how to build convention & exhibition center which is quasi-public goods needed to be profitable in some degree. I hope that these results will be academic foundation which can be used in various development in building new convention & exhibition center. |
